On May 9, 1845, Johann Heinrich Petrus Stubbe established Stubbe Chocolates in Meppen, a city in northern Germany. There, he laid the foundation for six generations of chocolate makers.

In 1989, almost 150 years later, Heinrich Josef Stubbe started a new chapter in the family business. He moved the company to Canada. Today, he and his son, Daniel, continue their family’s passion with destination shops in Ottawa and Toronto.

While Stubbe Chocolates specializes in chocolate of superior quality, you’ll also find tortes, cakes, and truffles.

Guests are welcome to view the open kitchen, where mouth-watering treats are created right in front of them. Generous in spirit, Daniel Stubbe is as comfortable discussing his own creations as he is in sharing his expertise with his customers.
